DOMINATE

Week 6 - SF @ SEA

Thu Oct 10, 2024

This is not the outcome we were hoping for, as the Seahawks drop to the Lions marking their first loss of the season.

Geno Smith's great game against the Lions Monday night at Ford Field in Detroit has him leading the NFL in passing yards.

Smith was 38-56 for 395 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

As is most often the case, there was still room for improvement. Geno had to settle for back-to-back what appeared to be hail-mary's into the endzone from the opponents 5 yard line.

I hope coach Macdonald will reconsider his reliance on analytics with regards to 2-point conversions. Those goal-line plays are too valuable to use up on 2-point attempts. Let's please save those for touchdowns! To make matters worse, we had to use two of these plays for one attempt because of the penalty on the Lions.

In coach's defense, the 2nd attempt should not have ocurred since DK was in bounds on the first try. What the hell? Where's the head-nod signalling TD from the ref? I believe this play was unchallengable and is automatically reviewed in the booth. What the hell booth? DK was clearly in.

Earlier I wrote about the only 3 receivers in the league that could consistently make catches like the one Tyler Lockett made to seal the week 1 opener vs the Broncos.

Well, I'm taking that back, DK Metcalf has upped his game in every way, making unbelievable grabs himself.

For me, this goes all the way back to last year's game against the Eagles in week 15 where he went off on the game's winning drive where he made 3 incredible catches.

Seahawks Defense #2 in the NFL - Yards, Points

September 24, 2024

The Seahawks have held their own against opposing offenses for the first 3 games of the season giving up a meager 249 yards per game, second only to the Pittsburgh Steelers who are giving up a mere 230 yards per game in this young season.

The Hawks visit a tough Lions Team on the road Monday night at Ford Field in Detroit which may be their first big test of the season.

Week 1 - DEN @ SEA

Sun Sep 8, 2024

What a start to the season as the Seahawks D seals it in a big first game for new head coach Mike Macdonald. The weather was warm, the throwbacks were cool, and new OC Ryan Grubb was on full display in is Seahawks and NFL debut.

Tyler Lockett's Clutch Catch

September 8, 2024

Tyler Lockett's miracle one-handed catch late in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game vs the Denver Broncos has to be seen to be believed. Even then, some will question whether or not unearthly forces played a role in Lockett making this grab. It's as if the defender's hand disappeared for a brief nano second allowing the ball to pass thru and into Lockett's hand.

I was convinced a review of the video would show the disppearing hand, however, my frame-by-frame analysis indeed does NOT show the hand disappearing. I believe once our earthly video technology improves, I will be redeemed.

The crazier thing about this and the other thing I'm convinced of is that there are only two other receivers in the league make this catch 9 out of 10 times. Jake Bobo and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, no shit.

Kenneth Walker III Shines via Ryan Grubb

September 8, 2024

After the Seahawk's defense forced the Broncos into a 3 and out to start the second half, the Seahawks offense came onto the field and put together a thing of beauty.

Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb's genius was on full display as he handed the ball to Kenneth Walker III 5 times on the 6 play scoring drive. The action was interuppted only once, by a pass on the drive's second play, a 13 yard completion from Geno Smith to Tyler Lockett down the right sideline.

Then on 1st and 15 after a SEA false start, K9 gets the hand-off from the DEN 27 and takes it for a modest 4 yard gain bringing up 2nd and 11 from the DEN 23 where Grubb again calls K9's number. This time Walker springs it around the right end, only the safety between him and the endzone as he soars thru the air flying into the endzone, body horizontal, parallell to the ground, at least 6 feet above, the defender helpless and unable of course to match the superhero's speed and flight altitude.
